- **Event Description**: This Sunday 8th March, in honour of #InternationalWomensDay, #NetballSiemReap will once again be hosting our perpetual ladies' match — however, this year, as you will discover, it's going to be bigger and better than last. ?

Firstly, from here on in, this annual event will be known as the ? Buppha Devi Cup — a name that pays tribute to the Cambodian Princess, Buppha Devi Norodom; for not only was she an accomplished dancer, but also was a brave, bold, iconic and inspiring female in Khmer history. Known as the 'First Royal Apsara', her steadfastness played a pivotal role in the preservation and revival of the Royal Ballet of Cambodia. ?? 

In keeping, this event will open with a traditional flower dance — Neary Chea Chou ? — which will be performed by three of Siem Reap's junior netballers. 

On the court, the Pink Ladies ? and Blue Beauties ? of yesteryear will make their return, albeit with revised line ups, and lots of new faces. BUT! The most exciting development this year, is the addition of a THIRD team, the Golden Girls ? — making this the seniors' first official tournament-style event.

It will be a community gathering like no other we've had before, and of course, a cause for celebration, given we will have all (but one) of our current 'girl squad' together on the same day (#IWD26) to showcase and play our favourite team sport, NETBALL! ??
