An enjoyable ascent of the Long Mynd from the quieter western side, following an ancient trackway known as The Portway along the ridge with outstanding views. Then we descend through the pretty golden valley of Darnford Brook, following along the Shropshire Way. Route follows lanes footpaths and tracks across fields, moors, through woods and along streams.
