- **Event Description**: Starting 10am from Oaks car park, Nesscliffe Hills Countryside Park, Hopton Lane, Nesscliffe  What3Words: ///strikers.clutches.rods This is a beautiful circular 6.3mi / 10.1km walk around the Nesscliffe Hills and the Cliffe Countryside Heritage site, through wooded hills and along a heather covered ridge, with beautiful expansive views over the Shropshire countryside and Welsh hills with 469 ft/143 m of ascent. Here is an iron age hill fort, a series of impressive quarries which supplied stone for some of Shropshire’s castles and churches, and a cave hewn into the sandstone, which is said to have been the hideout of the medieval outlaw Humphrey Kynaston. This is a winter walk with steep and muddy paths so please bring suitable clothing. Robust footwear and walking poles are recommended. Please also bring a hot drink and some food.
