For a considerable time, the establishment of a Nepali Community Center in Washington State has been a shared vision within our community. Owning a dedicated center will significantly enhance our capacity to showcase our culture, preserve our traditions, and provide a suitable venue for celebrating our festivals and rituals.
Project Background
The realization of this long-held dream is currently being driven forward by the WA Nepali Community Center, a dedicated non-profit organization led by our community members. Proposal for Financial Support
Nepal Seattle Society has historically supported the goal of a community center. In the past, we allocated $30,000 from our General Fund, generated through various events, to serve as seed money for this purpose. We believe the project led by the WA Nepali Community Center has now matured sufficiently for us to officially support it by donating this seed fund to their organization.
According to our governance structure, a financial decision of this magnitude requires the majority approval of our active members. Therefore, this email serves as the official notice for an ad hoc General Meeting to vote on the proposal to transfer the community building seed money to the WA Nepali Community Center.
