The Southern Open is structured to give every level of fighter the right competitive experience — from those stepping onto the mats for the first time, through to experienced and elite competitors.
� Clearly defined competitor levels:
• First-Time Competitor Categories – for students entering their first competition
• Intermediate Categories – for developing competitors building experience
• Advanced Categories – for experienced and elite fighters
Each level is designed to ensure fair match-ups, safety, and the right level of challenge, while maintaining a professional competition environment throughout.

• Points Fighting
• Light Continuous
• Teams
• Kata
• South Coast Belt Challenge
With experienced officials, structured divisions, and a strong emphasis on safety and sportsmanship, this event provides:
� A supportive introduction for new competitors
� Meaningful competition for intermediate fighters
� High-quality match-ups for advanced and elite athletes
� Venue: Shoreham Academy, Shoreham-by-Sea
� Doors open: 9am
� Entry Fees:
• £25 per category
• £20 second category
• Spectators £10 (Under 10s FREE)
