In June 2014, Canadian expat John Groot finished his walk around the entire coastline of Taiwan, completed in stages over eight years. His adventure took him not only through the familiar beauty spots we all love, but also along the island’s wildest coastal stretches, rarely seen by travelers. Through his journey, John developed a deeper connection to his chosen home and the material for his travelogue, Taiwanese Feet: My Walk Around Taiwan.

At this Coffee Morning, John will share his favorite stories and photos from the walk, tips for anyone interested in long-distance walking in Taiwan, and insights from his current project—exploring the neighborhoods of the Taipei Basin.
