N0rth lance son 7e album Banjo Ballads for Broken Babes

📅 Samedi 7 novembre
🚪 Ouverture des portes à 19h30
📍 Café 440
🎟️ Contributions volontaires

It all began with love at first sight. N0rth fell in love with the banjo, and from that love, Banjo Ballads for Broken Babes was born.

With this 7th album, N0rth takes an old-time folk turn and roots herself in the landscapes of her region. She tells the story of her own life, closely tied to the nature around her, along with the lives of women, past and present. Nostalgia, mystery, comfort.

The album also features a piece from the American folk repertoire and two collaborations with Sarah Pagé and Jonah Fortune.

Her voice recalls the late Lhasa, and her compositions evoke the world of Karen Dalton.

"One is not born a woman, one becomes one." This phrase has followed her since the album's very first notes.
