Learn how to create your own colorful hand dyed wool yarn! In this two-evening workshop, participants will learn about the equipment, chemistry and dyes needed to dye wool at home.
I will demonstrate various techniques for dye application, and share valuable resources for the home dyer.
Then, participates will then apply their new knowledge to dye two skeins of 100gm of merino wool. Wear clothes appropriate for studio work, and feel free bring color-swatch inspirations, and a healthy appetite for experimentation!
$150, includes access to dye cabinet, chemistry, and equipment; 2 x 100 gram skeins of superwash merino wool, available in your choice of bulky, worsted, or DK weight.
You will receive handouts with information detailing the process for future use, and a selection of extra bare wool to dye is available to purchase during class.
