CQB Nights at Close Quarters Tactical (CQT) are two-hour, instructor-led training sessions held twice per month on Tuesday evenings in our two-story shoot house in Shelby Township, Michigan. These sessions are designed for shooters of varying experience levels and do not require prior CQB training.
CQB Nights focus on dry fire, no-live-ammunition training to safely build confidence, movement, and decision-making in close quarters. Students will participate in 1- and 2-person runs, allowing for controlled repetitions and individualized instructor feedback after each iteration.
Important safety note: All CQB Nights are dry fire only. Do not bring a loaded firearm. No live ammunition is permitted in the shoot house during these sessions unless stated otherwise.
What you’ll work on: Students will learn and practice safe weapon handling indoors, weapon-ready positions, trigger discipline, room entry and movement techniques, threat assessment and prioritization, use of cover, angles and distance management, verbal and non-verbal communication, and efficient movement through single- and multi-room environments. Training may also include low-light concepts and weapons manipulation fundamentals, depending on the session.
CQB Nights are conducted in a group setting, but instruction is personalized. The instructor provides direct coaching tailored to each student’s skill level, helping build strong fundamentals in a structured, low-pressure environment.
Who should attend: CQB Nights are ideal for anyone interested in learning the basics of close quarters movement, as well as experienced shooters looking to refine techniques, decision-making, and safety practices without the stress of live fire.
Required gear: Eye and ear protection, handgun, holster. Comfortable attire recommended.
