Doncaster Jazz Alumni

Another chance to see the Doncaster Jazz Alumni, a really great big band whose local name belies the national prominence of its members. They are professional musicians who were past members of the Doncaster Youth Jazz Association (DYJA). Some – including Reuben Fowler, Rory Ingham, Matt Robinson and Nadim Teimoori – have jazz recording credits as contributors or key members of leading bands. Check out all the star names with whom they have collaborated. Everything they do and sell is ‘not for profit’. Expect a stylistically diverse programme with all the proceeds from the performance going towards keeping DYJA alive for future generations.

DYJA’s mission is to give back to music what it gave to them – unforgettable experiences, friendship, skills for life and wonderful memories. Everything they do is to help future generations of musicians both in our region and further afield. They feel passionately that music should be accessible for ALL children and yet that is not the case in today’s society. They want to change that. Therefore, Doncaster Jazz Alumni’s musicians have all agreed that they should not profit from concert fees and ticket sales which all go towards financing projects that benefit the next generation of musicians.
