- **Event Description**: Come along to a fun and friendly weekend school of Celtic Music that includes tuition in Flute/Whistle from Mairtin Staunton, Fiddle from Ewen Baker, Tenor Banjo/Mandolin from Jody Moran, beginner and intermediate/advanced Anglo Concertina from Jamie Molloy, with other beginner level classes delivered by Oscar West on fiddle and whistle. An amazing group of tutors with strong musical backgrounds in Irish/Celtic Music, and collectively hugely experienced with teaching and performing at the National and International level. 

The weekend also includes a Ceili (bush dance) plus dinner if desired on Saturday, with music played largely by our tutors. "The best bush dance band ever" was the feed-back we got about our tutor band last year! The Showcase Concert will happen on Sunday, performed by our tutors with a spot performance from the Tasmanian Uilleann Piping Group. This is usually an especially top-class performance of traditional Irish music where we get to truly see what our tutors can do. Tickets for these events are available separately if not wanting to participate in tuition. An Irish Soda-bread making class is also available with limited spaces.   

Other tuition electives include Tune History, Tune Writing, Session Structure, Sean-nos singing to play an air, Slow Session and Irish Fiddle Bowing Tricks. Our Monday morning blackboard concert is non-ticketed but all are welcome to attend upstairs at the Empire Hotel from 10am. 

Open traditional Celtic music sessions also abound over the weekend with the first occurring at The Empire Hotel on Friday night, and then the Western Tiers Community Club (bar from 8pm) on Saturday and Sunday. These sessions are all non-ticketed. We would love to see you there, even if to just to listen and enjoy the music and the great company.
