Don’t worry if you’ve not picked up a pencil since school – it’s a relaxed and friendly group where all are welcome, from the more experienced artists to the absolute beginners.Each session begins with a short mindful exercise led by your tutor, followed by a creative session linked to a new theme each week. You’ll take inspiration from different still life objects, artists’ work and reference images.Materials and objects related to that weeks’ theme are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own too.Each week is a stand-alone class but join regularly and really see your skills improve.Upcoming Themes:3 Sep - Mythical Creatures - we'll take inspiration from mythical creatures in art, and have a go at creating, drawing and painting our own.17 Sep - Watercolours - We’ll look at various techniques including wet on wet, dry brushing, washes and underpainting. If you have a particular item you’d like to paint, please bring it along, but there will be plenty of inspiration on the tables for you to choose from.Please note that the rest of the gallery closes at 5pm. The entrance from the Winter Gardens will be closed. Please come in through the entrance on Arundel Gate, opposite Sheffield Hallam University.This workshop is aimed at adults and the minimum age to attend is 14 years old. 14-16 year olds will need to be accompanied by an adult.
