This event forms part of the brand-new Sheffield Indie Book Festival, taking place in various venues 25th - 26th April. Tickets for this event are sliding scale, and all proceeds will go towards future Sheaf Poetry live events, building back up to (we hope!) a full weekend poetry festival in the not-too-distant future.Helen Mort is a Professor of Creative Writing at Manchester Metropolitan. She has published three poetry collections with Chatto & Windus, a novel and a memoir. Her next collection 'STEPMOTHER' is forthcoming from Chatto in 2026. Her biography of countryside pioneer Ethel Haythornthwaite was published by Vertebrate in 2024. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and she lives in Sheffield.Suzannah Evans' work combines climate anxiety and eco-poetry with dark humour and irreverence, and has been described as 'doom-pop poetry with an apocalyptic edge.' She has published two books with Nine Arches Press, the most recent of which is 'Space Baby', and her pamphlet ‘Green’ is published by Bad Betty Press. Molly Naylor is an award-winning writer and performer. Her work has been toured nationally and broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and Sky One. Her book ‘Lights, Planets, People!’ won the Broken frontier award for Best Graphic Novel. Her third poetry collection ‘Whatever You’ve Got’ was published by Bad Betty Press. She was recently Highly Commended in the Forward Prizes for Poetry. She hosts the popular creativity podcast Making Trouble with Molly Naylor. She is currently working on her debut novel, which will be released in 2027. Accessibility information: La Biblioteka has step-free access. Accessible toilets are available in Leah’s Yard. Please note that Leah’s Yard is a Grade II listed venue and its historic cobbles remain a feature of the yard, meaning the ground is uneven throughout.About Sheaf Poetry: We bring a range of poetry, spoken word and associated events to Sheffield and South Yorkshire, and to online audiences.
