# Event Details - **Event Name**: Summer Cyanotype Printing from Nature - **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 08 Aug, 2026 at 10:00 am – Sat, 08 Aug, 2026 at 01:00 pm - **Event Description**: Learn how to compose an image and expose it using sunlight in our introduction to cyanotype printmaking, using botanical materials.About this EventCyanotype is one of the oldest photographic processes, using sunlight to produce beautiful and delicate blue images. Although a simple process, it allows creates opportunities for artists to think and work in complex and experimental ways, and create images from found materials.In this workshop you will learn about the exposure process and how to coat materials and tone your images. We will make special use of botanical materials and foliage, gathered from the gardens surrounding the studio and those you might like to bring from home, which lend themselves fantastically to cyanotype printing.
