Join us to celebrate the release of Sally's new novel, 'Hagtale: A Macbeth Origin Story', and enjoy performances by local writing talent.

About this Event

A hagtale, a dark fable, a story told around winter’s fires and known to Shakespeare but never written down. Until now.

Join The Writers Workshop in celebrating the recent release of Hagtale: A Macbeth Origin Story (Scribe UK, 2025) by Sheffield-based novelist Sally O'Reilly, a story told from the perspective of one of the witches. We will chat with Sally about how this novel came to be and dive into its characters and themes.

There'll also be an opportunity to buy the book and get it signed by Sally.

And afterwards, it's over to YOU for the open-mic segment. We'd love to hear your poems, flash fiction, exerpts, or whatever you'd like to share in five minutes or less.
