Have you ever admired Japanese prints and wondered how they are made? Explore this traditional water based non-toxic printmaking method in a one-day workshop. You will learn how to transfer an image onto a woodblock, carve and print your design using traditional tools and paper.We will be using only natural materials, water colour paint, soft shina woodblocks and hand held barren to press the image onto washi paper.This course is suitable for complete beginners to those that have printmaking experience but want to try a different technique.What will I need to bring?All materials and equipment will be provided.You may want to bring an image or sketch ideas, smaller than A5, that you can trace from, but this is not necessary. We will have a selection of nature inspired images to choose from.Please wear old clothes as printing can get messy. No sandals, heels or open toe shoes.
