This workshop is for you!About this EventWelcome to the Intro to Printmaking Weekend event at Carousel Print Studio, Exchange Place Studios! Join us on January 17, 2026 at 10:30 AM for a fun and creative experience. Whether you're new to printmaking or looking to enhance your skills, this event is perfect for all levels. Get ready to unleash your artistic side and learn the basics of several printmaking techniques. This course is whistlestop tour of a variety of techniques,  giving you a clearer understanding of the possibilities of print.  A chance to experiment and have some fun having a taste of what printmaking can offer.In the workshop you will have a go at: Monotype - experiment with mark making to create gestural and intuitive prints.  Monoprinting, creating prints from found objects.  Drypoint, an intaglio technique used to produce linear work  Linocut, a relief technique producing bold graphic designs.Dont worry if you have never heard of these techniques, you will be guided step by step, to produce a collection of colourful prints to take home. https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events8/banners/c1a32390-b9c7-11f0-b18d-2de9eb7cb3fc-rimg-w785-h740-dc2f4a67-gmir.jpg What will I need to bring?All materials and equipment will be provided.You may like to bring ideas, photos or sketches to work from but this is not essential. Teas, coffee, water and biscuits are provided.About Carousel Print StudioCarousel Print Studio is a not for profit charity based on the ground floor of Exchange Place Studios in Castlegate, Sheffield. Carousel provides educational workshops in printmaking and opportunities for creatives in Sheffield, in a bright, warm, accessible and well equipped printmaking studio. Carousel is located on the ground floor just to the left of reception. The doors are widened for ease of access and there is an accessible toilet. Sarah has a strong and contagious passion for printmaking, having worked at many printmaking workshops, colleges, schools and organisations.
