From washing, carding & spinning to weaving, knitting & crocheting.About this EventIn Collaboration with Quiplash and Drew from Peak Queer Adventures we invite you to spend a day with experienced crafters to take raw wool from 'Fleece to Fabric'.Join Heather Johnson and Anne Smithies as they demonstrate and support you in trying out different stages of the fibre making process: from washing, carding and spinning through to weaving, knitting or crocheting. All in a relaxed environment where you can go at your own pace. No previous knowledge is needed to attend.As well as learning fibre craft skills, there will be an opportunity to discuss issues of LGBTQ+ access to safe third spaces and how this affects possibilities for slow, non-profit-driven art practices.A free vegan lunch and refreshments will be provided.Gut Level is a members-only venue, with basic membership available for £2 a year but entry to this workshop is free.To manage venue capacity and encourage a relaxed atmosphere, we’re offering timed entries. Please choose the time you’re most likely to attend.
