Book Binding

About the course

Come and make your own sketchbook, using traditional bookbinding techniques. We will fold, sew, cut and cover to produce a really useful little book, which will hopefully inspire you to draw/fill with ideas/bind more books!

Our experienced bookmaker and teacher Kim will guide you through the process, in the warm and fully equipped space at Carousel Print Studio.

You will then have the skills to be able to continue bookbinding at home.

All materials and equipment will be provided.

Please wear old clothes as things can get messy. Aprons will be provided.

You may want to bring a packed lunch and your own water bottle. Teas and coffees are provided.

About the tutor

Kim Bevan is a well established and experienced paper based arts tutor.

In her own practice she makes artist books which play around with 3D sculptural folding techniques and she creates artwork using paper cutting, illustration and printmaking.

Kim will guide you through this fun and creative process and teach you new binding and stitching techniques.

Carousel Print Studio is a not for profit charity based on the ground floor of Yorkshire Art Space, Exchange Place Studios in Castlegate. Carousel provides educational workshops in printmaking and opportunities for creatives in Sheffield, in a bright, warm, accessible and well equipped printmaking studio. We are a non toxic studio.

Refund policy- All courses are non refundable

If the course is cancelled? In the unlikely event the course is cancelled by Carousel Print Studio, a full refund will be issued.
