About the performers From Ska classics and Motown favorites to Reggae throwbacks & pop sing-a-longs, the Dead Bettys are an exciting Ska/Punk band spawned from the vibrant arts and music scene in Lawrence, Ks. A full horn section distinguishes this unit as they honor the tradition of Rock, Ska, Blues, and jazz for a fresh, midwestern twist. Anchored by veteran Lawrence musicians, Aaron Riffel (bass) and Patrick Broxterman (drums), The Dead Bettys are built from the ground up with a solid drum rhythm section foundation. Next up are a guitar duo extraordinaire of Rory Harms and Bennett Kinder giving the 1-2 punch to the sonic assault. Let’s not forget the power-packed full horn section composed of Cole Bichelmeyer (trumpet), Jon Heeb (trombone), Andrew Ramaley (trombone & vocals), Andy Groneman (trumpet), Leron Gray (bari sax), and Joe Vaglio (sax & vocals) give The Dead Bettys their classic but distinct and unique sound. And last but not least, the incomparable Beth Romano is the vocal “breath of fresh air” this hard-charging unit needs to create a complete party package.
