Join us on April 15th from 10am–12pm for a hands-on workshop exploring the beautiful tradition of reverse glass painting, a traditional folk art technique.
In this class, participants will:
- Learn how to carefully disassemble and reassemble a frame
- Paint a detailed outline on one side of the glass
- Flip the glass and fill in the design from the reverse side
- Leave with a completed piece ready to display at home
This unique process requires thinking in reverse, layering details first and backgrounds last, resulting in a vibrant, luminous finished artwork.
The workshop is taught by Carol Novosel, an accomplished folk artist known for her work in pysanky (Ukrainian batik egg decoration). Carol learned traditional techniques from her mother and grandmother at the kitchen table as a child and has been demonstrating folk art since age 15. Her deep understanding of symbolism, color history, and traditional methods beautifully informs her glass painting instruction, bringing authenticity and cultural richness to the process.
Cost: $30 per person
Date: April 15 | 10am - 12pm
Come experience this timeless folk art and create something truly special to take home!
