Sorry men, this one is a women-only guided snowshoe hike led by experienced and capable female TrailBound Project instructors and guides. This supportive and welcoming snowshoeing adventure will take us to Belleayre Mountain for a beautiful winter loop hike. It’s the perfect way for women to connect, build confidence, and enjoy the quiet beauty of the Catskills in winter.

Get ready for a 4-mile snowshoe hike with 550' of elevation up & down at Belleayre Mountain in the Catskills that we'll take at a leisurely pace.

Bring your own snowshoes and microspikes, or add rentals for the day - $15 for snowshoes and/or $5 for microspikes. We will have varied sizes to choose from at the beginning of the hike.

Does winter’s arrival mean our hiking season is over? Absolutely not! In fact, winter provides a completely different landscape with natural beauty that everyone should experience. With the right footwear and traction devices, we can enjoy frozen waterfalls, incredible views that go forever now that they’re no longer obscured by the leaf canopy, identify and follow animal tracks in the snow, and do it all with fewer hikers on the trails!

Belleayre’s gentle rolling trails provide the perfect setting for a beginner-friendly snowshoeing day. We’ll make our way through peaceful forests, snow-covered evergreens, and out to open viewpoints where winter ridgelines stretch across the distance. With fewer hikers on the trails, winter gives us the chance to enjoy serene landscapes, spot animal tracks, and experience the mountains in a whole new way.

Along the hike, we’ll talk about moisture management, staying warm and dry, choosing winter traction devices, and other key skills for safe and enjoyable cold-weather hiking. This trip is ideal for beginners or those looking for a relaxed-paced day with an empowering group of women who love the outdoors.

Although we're hoping for lots of snow to make it a snowshoeing wonderland, the weather is completely unpredictable. If we end up with less-than-ideal snowy conditions, we'll still have a great time with microspikes and go over winter hiking best practices and skills, such as how to dress, the different gear we carry, and other seasonal trip planning considerations to make winter hiking just as comfortable and enjoyable as the rest of the year.

Minimum Age: 12 years old - the minor(s) and a parent/guardian must all be paid registered participants.
