- **Event Description**: The inaugural Jackson County Unified community basketball game is set for March 27 at Seymour Intermediate School, 1000 S. Poplar St., Seymour.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. The event will start at 7 p.m. and include a basketball game featuring two teams of players consisting of Special Olympics Indiana Jackson County athletes and high school students from around Jackson County. High school cheerleaders and band members also are invited to participate in the event.

Admission is free, but freewill donations will be accepted at the door to benefit the local Special Olympics program. There also will be concessions available for purchase, and attendees can buy chances to participate in a Chuck-A-Duck game. We also plan to have event T-shirts available for purchase.

At halftime, there will be an individual skills demonstration, a performance by the Shake Down Dancers, a performance by local high school cheerleaders and a Chuck-A-Duck game. 

Organizers are seeking high school students to serve as players in the game, coaches, referees, greeters accepting freewill donations at the door, Chuck-A-Duck coordinators and selling concessions. Students interested in participating should fill out the Google Form at https://forms.gle/3waLMx5DUajpJqkv5.

Special Olympics athletes and volunteers and community members interested in participating in the event also should fill out the form. 

Participants also must complete the Special Olympics volunteer registration online at portals.specialolympics.org.
