Life In Bloom

Graeme Corbett of Bloom & Burn isn't your usual florist. Working from his studio in Kent, he uses locally grown flowers to create wild, loose arrangements with a modern feel. In Life in Bloom, he teaches you everything you need to know about growing and arranging flowers at home - including which rules to follow, and which ones to break - in a bid to find your own style.

Inviting you into his studio and garden, Graeme takes you through the seasons by way of his favourite flowers. Discover narcissi and ranunculus in spring; peonies and poppies in summer; dahlias and phlox in autumn; and dried honesty and forced blossom in winter. For each flower, Graeme gives advice on growing, choosing varieties, sourcing and conditioning before teaching stunning arrangements. Play with colour, form and texture and gain the confidence to go bigger.

GRAEME CORBETT is the owner of Bloom & Burn (@bloomandburn), a floral studio based in the Kent countryside. After starting the business as his kitchen table in North London, eight years later he is now a successful event florist, floral stylist and teacher with a passion for making flower arranging more accessible and affordable.

Some of the ticket options that don’t include the author’s book, or are specially priced for couples, are limited in number and can sell out quickly. Our aim is to try and bring the best and most interesting authors to our town. We are always trying to balance accessibility and affordability for our audiences, alongside requirements from publishers to sell enough books for events to be worthwhile enterprises for their authors.
