The name Fierbois resonated deeply with Caitlin Broms-Jacobs (oboe) and Madeline Hildebrand (piano). Meaning “proud wood”, it references the core material of their instruments.

The duo embodies the strength, elegance, and natural beauty of their instruments and the Canadian landscape. Their performances are expressive and immersive, blending classical artistry with vivid storytelling. Central to their program is Oscar Peterson’s Canadiana suite, a jazz-infused tribute to Canada’s geography, guiding listeners on a rich, unforgettable journey through sound, place, and national identity.
