Leading performing artistes of Singapore and diverse community groups bring you classical, folk dances, songs on the theme of Bhagavad Gita. Followed by Bhajan Session.
Bhajan Session is led by Pandit Rattan Mohan Sharma reputed classical musician, composer, music director and bhajan singer. He is the nephew and foremost disciple of the legend Padma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj. His trendsetting albums such as "Gayatri Mantra" have sold over half a million copies world over. He has more than 300 best selling albums to his credit.
He is accompanied on the Pakhawaj by talented Amit Mishra grandson of Padmabhushan Pt. Samta Prasad Mishra.

The “Gita Jayanti 2017-18” is being led by the Bijhar (Singapore) with the support of other Hindu Temples and organizations of Singapore under the auspices of the Hindu Endowments Board.

PANDIT RATTAN MOHAN SHARMA
He is the nephew and foremost disciple of the legend Padma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj.
In addition to being a foremost exponent of the Mewati Gharana of Hindustani classical music He is an exponent of Haveli Sangeet.
And Haveli Sangeet is a semi classical form of Hindustani classical music sung in Havelis. Its a daily worship of Lord Krishna in Drupad genre of Hindustani classical music. And the nature of Dhrupad music is spiritual
He is an "A" grade artist of All India Radio
His trendsetting albums such as "Gayatri Mantra" have sold Millions of copies world over. He has more than 300 Best selling Albums to his credit.
Also a successful music director and composer he has given music to a number of tele-serials and private albums
As a playback singer he has performed in mythological film, Dashavatar ( 2009) .
Also considered a fastest Taraana singer. At a magical evening in Hyderabad the audience at Pandit Mañiram Pandit Motiram Sangeet Samaroh granted Pandit Rattan Mohan Sharma with the title of "Tarana Ke Baadshah" or King of Taraana.
He is Founder of Pandit Jasraj School of Music Foundation- Mumbai and also a faculty in Pandit Jasraj School of Music Foundation- Tampa, Florida, US.
Has given more than 5000 performances worldwide; in temples, colleges, prestigious music festivals.
AMIT MISHRA on the Pakhawaj / Tabla
Amit Mishra has the distinction of topping the instrumental music division of M.Mus examinations of the Banaras Hindu University.
His early forays into the world of music were supervised by his paternal grandfather, the late Pt. Narayan Das Mishra, who groomed Amit in vocal music.
He soon developed a keen interest in tabla playing and started learning it under the guidance of his father, Pt. Kishor Kumar Mishra and uncle Pt. Pramod Kumar Mishra.
As he began to devote himself entirely to tabla playing, he was both inspired and blessed by his maternal grandfather, the late Tabla Samrat Padmabhushan Pt. Samta Prasad Mishra.
He then received advanced instruction from his Guru, the internationally acclaimed late Pt. Sharda Sahai (a direct descendant of Pt. Ram Sahai ji, the founder of the Banaras Gharana style of playing the tabla).
Amit gave his first performance as a tabla soloist, at the age of 8 in a concert organized by UNICEF. He has extensively performed in India and abroad for concerts, workshops and done collaborations with musicians of various countries.
He has accompanied some of the finest artists of India like: Vidushi Girija Devi ji, Pt.Birju Maharaj ji, Smt Sitara Devi ji, vidushi Sonal Mansingh ji, Pt. Ajay Pohankar ji, Pt. Channu lal Mishra ji, Smt Sunaina Hajarilal ji to name a few.
