This year’s festival invites us to the waters of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, where a mysterious (and friendly!) Kraken rises near the lighthouse to welcome all who come to celebrate community, history, and a little adventure. And what better way to join the journey than through music inspired by the sea?

Our program charts a course across oceans and coastlines—from Seagate Overture to the haunting legacy of Titanic, and the lively rhythms of the Bayou that echo distant shores. We’ll stroll along the coast with Sousa’s Manhattan Beach, hoist the sails in A Sea Chantey Voyage, and brace yourselves…because the Kraken might just appear when the sounds of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest take over the stage.

We’ll conclude with the powerful Victory at Sea, drawn from the iconic World War II documentary series that chronicled naval battles across the globe. With music by Richard Rodgers, this unforgettable score captures both the intensity of conflict and the resilience of those who served, bringing to life the vast scale and human stories of the war on the world’s oceans.

As always, our concerts are family friendly and free to the public. Join us for an afternoon of music, mythology, and maritime adventure as we celebrate Sequim’s rich history and this year’s unforgettable festival theme. If you’re ready to go Sequimming…you better get Kraken!
