We’ll tour the facilities and pastures, introduce you to the flocks, and walk through the daily routine: checking water, providing hay, and keeping animal areas clean. Most of our sheep and goats will be pregnant, so the work this season is focused on keeping them healthy and comfortable.You don’t need farm experience. You do need to be ready for hands-on work outdoors. Our farm covers 180 acres, the ground is uneven, and there’s plenty of walking. Feed buckets weigh at least 25 pounds. The work can be messy and tiring, but it’s a rewarding way to support a local farm and get to know the animals.We’re looking for helpers who can commit to a regular shift of at least two hours, on weekdays or weekends. Our volunteer hours this season are 8:30 a.m.–noon and 2:30–5:30 p.m. During training, we’ll ask about your availability so you can sign up for days that work for you. Volunteer and community service hours are welcome.Learn the routine and the faces in the flock now, and you’ll be ready to play a meaningful part when the babies arrive next season.This is a working volunteer program. Children under 10 should join us for Little Shepherds instead.
