For many of us this is the frustrating truth. Do you realise that you might just be battling your hormones?
If you're doing all the "correct" things but you're also juggling 47 things on your to do list, all to be done before 9am..... then you're fighting a losing battle.
Learn how your hormones can sabotage all your hard work and more importantly, what you can do to balance them.
And it's not just our weight. As women, many of us have spent our entire younger lives being told to just accept painful periods, problems with our cycles, endometriosis, bad skin, PCOS – you name it the list goes on. And then, as we age, it’s time to just accept hot flushes, insomnia, mood swings and brain fog. When we’re younger, the go to remedy is to go on the pill; when we’re older the first port of call…. Anti-depressants! Yes, anti-depressants – even though you’re not depressed. At least, you weren’t until you visited your doctor!
But what if there was another way? A way in which you stopped relying on someone else to tell you what’s best for your own body and allowed you to take back control of your own health?
Our homones are amazing – but if they’re out of whack, they can also be the root cause of absolutely horrendous symptoms – in our bodies and thus on our lives. But, it doesn’t have to be like this. We have the ability to get our endocrine system back into balance allowing us to regain harmony within. When we physically feel better, everything improves. It’s hard to feel joyful, or energetic, or sexy if every waking minute is a minefield of pain, tiredness, brain fog, mood swings or hot flushes.
So, today, why not take a day for yourself? Time to relax and unwind and just as importantly to discover why this isn't just a "nice to have" but maybe the missing piece!
We'll start with a drink and a light bite from our private chef, Delia @jammycook during our welcome session.
Then 90 minutes of gentle yoga movement and breath techniques all designed to calm you down.
After a short break it's time for a comprehensive workshop where you'll learn the key strategies you can use to rebalance yourself.
Following a moreish 2 course lunch that will nourish your soul as much as your body and mind, (again from Delia @jammycook) you'll have plenty of time to relax.
Try out contrast therapy for the first time on the deck overlooking the beautiful Scottish Borders countryside. Move from the warmth of the hot tub to the chill of the ice bath. Dip a toe, or maybe ALL of you! Alternatively, explore the private woods of Woll Estate immersing yourself in the peace and tranquility that nature offers. Or simply curl up on the sofa and read a book in front of the fire. The afternoon is yours to spend how you wish.
During the workshop, we'll discuss how you can proactively rebalance your endocrine system naturally. We'll cover fasting, detox, contrast therapy and lifestyle changes. There is EXTENSIVE information about fasting and how to use fasting to support your hormones. Men and women DON’T fast in the same way and your fasting protocol will vary depending upon whether you have a cycle, are peri-menopausal or menopausal. Whether it's fasting, breath work, or any of the lifestyle pillars we'll discuss, they're all techniques to support any of the hard work you're already doing. And if you're not, perhaps this will be the gentle nudge to help you make the lifestyle changes that will encourage longevity.
