SPRING AWAKENING

SPRING AWAKENING, the Tony award-winning contemporary musical by Duncan Sheik and Steven Slater based on the 1891 play by infamous German playwright Frank Wedekind, opens Thursday November 13 at 7:30 PM and performs again that Friday November 14 and Saturday November 15 at 7:30 PM and Sunday November 16 at 2:30 PM.

Dr. Martina Kolb, Associate Professor of German, will present a pre-show talk entitled “Scandalous, precocious, and obscene? Ethics and Expression in Spring Awakening” at 6:30 PM Friday evening November 14 in the Lore Degenstein Gallery.

SPRING AWAKENING features content for mature audiences only. Described by the New York Times as a "brave new musical, haunting and electrifying by turns," SPRING AWAKENING blends an 1890s setting and the often dark challenges of adolescence with a powerful indie-rock score.
