Attempting Suicide - My Life Before and After
A panel of four community members will share their experiences of attempting suicide and their journey to healing and living.
A soup supper will be served at 4:45 and the panel will begin at 5:15
The program is free and open to the public.
September 10-16 is National Suicide Prevention Week and The Mental Health Coalition Verde Valley is partnering with Spectrum Healthcare Group to host this panel.
Suicide is the 8th leading cause of death in Arizona. According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, on average, one person dies by suicide every 7 hours in Arizona.
According to Barbara Litrell, President of the Mental Health Coalition Verde Valley, "We keep trying to find out what our community can do to help prevent suicide. That will be one of the questions we will ask our panelists. What could family, friends and community do to help someone experiencing the emotional crisis leading to suicide? We are really grateful to our panelists willing to share their stories."
