You are warmly invited to join us for a special evening at Sedona United Methodist Church as we celebrate 1st Fridays in the Galleries! On Friday, December 5 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, explore a vibrant gathering of art, community, and inspiration at the El Dorado Studio and Gallery, located on the 3rd floor of Sedona UMC.
This month’s exhibit will feature the visionary work of Frederica Hall, whose multidisciplinary art draws on myth, the cosmos, and the healing arts, alongside the evocative paintings of renowned Cuban artist Rev. George Dorado Blanco, the contemporary styles of Mark Vranesh, Kari Valles, Trevan Segle and other guest artists. Enjoy light refreshments, live demonstrations, and the creative energy that fills our galleries every first Friday of the month.
We are honored to highlight a statement from featured artist Frederica Hall, reminding us of the importance of celebrating the divine feminine:
“Long ago, divine Goddesses walked in power. They were honored, keepers of mysteries, of wisdom and creation. But the ignorance of patriarchy arose in mankind and sought to dominate what it could not understand… Yet like roots beneath the soil—quiet, steady, carrying memory, feeding life unseen—the divine feminine remains, woven into the balance of the living world, calling to those who remember how to listen.”
Let us gather in this spirit of remembrance and celebration, honoring the creative force and wisdom of the divine feminine through art and community.
An added treat - Frederica will by providing an explorative, creative flow of the Divine Feminine —
Retracing my symbolic journey
from the far north,
where footprints in the last Ice Age
follow the therianthropic Lion’s Tail,
south to the Fertile Crescent,
where the remnants of Goddess stories
were chiseled into stone,
and beneath the shifting sands,
the Great Sphinx was found.
Gaze through her ageless eyes to the heavens.
See Isis and Osiris
sailing their ancient mythic boat
down the dark celestial river,
passing the mythic nest embedded deep within Orion’s Nebula,
where therian deities and stars become into being.
Drifting along the dark matter waters,
with the wings of Cygnus giving wind to the sails,
carrying them into the Veil supernova —
a portal into new worlds, New paintings.
We look forward to sharing this inspiring evening with you.
