Silk painting with resist uses a barrier (resist) to block liquid dyes, creating distinct, sharp color areas like a stained-glass window. Artists outline designs with gutta resists, which dry to form a waterproof fence, allowing dyes to be applied and contained within sections, and to mix with other silk dyes- the colors to create beautiful magical silk hoop paintings.
