Reflecting on our Nation’s Milestone As we mark 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Sound Experience recognizes this historic milestone in American democracy. Sailing ships played a role in the story of independence. Aboard the National Historic Landmark schooner Adventuress, we cultivate the next generation of environmental stewards and shipmates whose voices and actions will shape the next 250 years of our shared American story. We celebrate the founding of our nation as a pluralistic society. We honor the diverse stories and peoples who lived on these lands for millennia, all who settled here, and the complex history of the founding of our nation and Washington State.
