PhotoFest: Brunch Photowalk at the Fremont Sunday Market

Stroll through the vibrant Fremont Sunday Market with us for a mid-morning photowalk

full of color, character, and candid moments. Ricoh-PENTAX rep Shelley Preston will be

on site with GR cameras available to borrow, so you can try your hand at street

photography with one of the most iconic compact cameras out there. Just bring your

own SD card so you can take your images home!

Brunch is not included, but the market is packed with awesome vendors offering coffee,

snacks, and plenty of brunch-worthy bites for purchase.

WHERE TO MEET & SCHEDULE

• 11:30am - Meet Shelley at the Road Closure Sign on 34th St and Fremont Ave to handout Ricoh GR IIIs for demoing.
• 11:40am - Explore the market! Capture the life, scenery, and activity of the event.
• 12:30am - Meet Shelley back at the same meeting location from the start of the walk to return the camera.
• 12:40am- Head down to Glazer's for more Photofest programming and sales!

Parking can take patience to find in the area so please arrive early to locate available free street or paid lot parking.

While all PhotoFest events are free, registration is required to attend. Due to limited capacity at each venue, entry is granted on a first-come, served basis.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Shelley Preston is a Regional Account Manager for Ricoh Imaging, the company behind the iconic Pentax brand - known for its cult-favorite GR cameras beloved by street photographers, and now, bringing film back into focus with the Pentax 17. She’s been hooked on photography since the days of one-hour photo labs and her first trusty point-and-shoot. While black and white photography will always be her first love, she still finds herself happily chasing color through every frame.

When she’s not slinging cameras or shooting film, she’s painting large abstract canvases or gaming with her spouse in Austin, Texas. They share their home with a giant goldendoodle named Roxy, who answers to many names, especially T-Rox and Dino-Dog (because, frankly, she might be part dinosaur). Shelley holds a BA from Texas Tech University and a lifetime membership in the “I Shoot Film” club.

We are excited for our annual PhotoFest full of presentations, workshops, and demonstrations from some of the most talented creative artists in their field, all FREE of charge.

Now in its 16th year, PhotoFest continues to exceed our wildest expectations. The three-day event includes a broad spectrum of on-location shoots, studio settings, photowalks, lectures, and product demonstrations. It gives a larger purpose to reconnect not only to our art, but to each other. Image-making and visual storytelling capture moments that are fleeting, but the relationships we build along the way endure.
