- **Event Description**: Ok everyone, with Seaside behind us it is time to think about the most fun beach volleyball tournament of the year to celebrate and remember our friend Sophy Math.

There will be an upper and lower division with pool play to start followed by bracket play.  Prizes for the winners.  

Join us Sunday September 20th at Golden Gardens for a day of volleyball, fun, and community spirit, rain or shine! We’re keeping the tradition alive with the annual end-of-summer coed volleyball tournament, started by Seattle volleyball legend and friend, Sophy Math.

Sign up with a partner and secure your spot—just $50 per team. As a memorial, friends of Sophy will be prioritized before opening up registration to other players. There are no refunds. If you can’t make it, please arrange for someone to take your spot.

This tournament is all about fun so we have some unique rule modifications inspired by Sophy himself.

Half-Shot Rule-Mods

• Take a shot after each win.

• Use a mulligan to replay a point.

• Call in a friend for one point.

• “You No Hit” – for three consecutive points, your opponents can’t spike the ball!

After the success of 'Kojo's Wheel of Death' last year there will be some alternative "challenges" in lieu of some of the shot mods.

These mods are subject to change but please be willing to participate if you sign up.

The tournament is lighthearted and social, it’s also designed with a bit of celebratory fun (and drinks!) in mind. If that’s not quite your vibe, this might not be the best fit for you—no pressure, just looking to keep the spirit of Sophy’s tourney alive.

Teams are encouraged to bring drinks to share, and in the spirit of celebration, we hope you’ll coordinate with others on food, fire, and other ways to celebrate!

Whether you’re here to compete or just have a good time, join us in celebrating community and keeping Sophy’s tradition alive.

This tournament has always been a community effort, and we’d love your input to help make this year’s event another great one.

We’re looking for people who want to help shape and run the day. Whether that’s organizing food, managing brackets, helping with setup and teardown, coordinating games and challenges, bringing equipment, or contributing new ideas, we’d love your involvement.
