After collaborating across numerous projects, the lens turns on him to follow the athlete’s most ambitious project yet: States of Elevation.As Kilian sets out to link 72 fourteeners across the United States, travelling only by foot and bike, Nick faces challenges of his own. Over 31 days, he must navigate vast distances, shifting weather, and a subject who often moves faster than he can frame.Inspired by Kilian, Nick reflects on the privilege of witnessing an extraordinary human effort up close, the stories behind his images, creativity as a practice, and staying present in a moment where nothing is guaranteed.About Nick DanielsonBorn and raised in Seattle, Washington, Nick Danielson is a photographer and filmmaker who learned to move through the mountains of the Cascade Range. Fascinated by all things visual, he combines his formal design education with hands-on experience in photojournalism and filmmaking. He has collaborated with Kilian and NNormal since the brand’s earliest days, driven by curiosity, experimentation and a deep interest in the extraordinary stories behind the people he photographs.
