Music Festivals in Seattle

1. Bumbershoot

The Bumbershoot Arts and Music Festival held annually at Seattle Center is a vibrant celebration of music arts and food. This festival in 2024 features a diverse lineup with headliners like Pavement James Blake and Courtney Barnett alongside acts such as Kurt Vile and Cypress Hill. This year's festival introduces a new Animation District with interactive art and visual effects. Attendees can also enjoy culinary delights from over 50 local vendors including Local Tide and Musang.


2. Freakout Festival

The Freakout Festival was held annually in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood and it is a 4-day event celebrating rock, punk, psychedelic and experimental music. Running every November, it features a diverse lineup including past headliners like The Seeds, Kid Congo Powers and Viagra Boys. It was founded in 2013 by Seattle musician Guy Keltner the festival has grown from its roots in Capitol Hill to become a significant part of Seattle’s music scene.


3. Capitol Hill Block Party

The Capitol Hill Block Party , set for July 19-21, 2024, in Seattle’s vibrant Capitol Hill neighborhood, is a dynamic celebration of music and arts. Featuring over 100 acts including Kaytranada, Still Woozy, Remi Wolf and Cannons the festival spans multiple outdoor and indoor stages, creating an immersive experience. Attendees can enjoy diverse food and drinks from local vendors along with art installations and community engagement opportunities making it a highlight of Seattle's cultural calendar.


Music Venues in Seattle

1. The Crocodile

With a capacity of around 550, it offers an intimate setting for live performances. Opening its doors on April The Crocodile quickly became a cornerstone of Seattle's music scene, famously hosting Nirvana, Pearl Jam Alice in Chains and Soundgarden. The Crocodile also known as The Crocodile Cafe is a legendary music venue located at 2505 1st Avenue in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood.


2. Climate Pledge Arena

Climate Pledge Arena is located at Seattle Center state-of-the-art venue with a capacity of 17,100 for hockey and 18,300 for basketball. The venue was opened in October following a $1.15 billion redevelopment that modernized its facilities while preserving its historic exterior. Initially built for the 1962 World’s Fair and known as Seattle Center Coliseum it was later renamed KeyArena and served the Seattle SuperSonics until 2008.


3. Tacoma Dome

Opened in 1983, its unique wooden dome structure offers excellent acoustics and a distinctive appearance. The Tacoma Dome is located at 2727 East D Street in Tacoma WA is a major indoor arena with a capacity of about 22,500 making it one of the largest venues in the Pacific Northwest. The arena hosts a wide array of events from concerts by major artists like P!NK Korn and Iron Maiden to sports and community gatherings.


4. Lumen Field

Opened in July this stadium can seat up to 69,000 for football and 37,722 for soccer. Lumen Field is also a top venue for concerts having performances by artists like Taylor Swift and Metallica. Lumen Field , located at 800 Occidental Ave S in Seattle, WA, is a versatile stadium that hosts a variety of events including NFL games for the Seattle Seahawks, MLS matches for Seattle Sounders FC, WNBA games for Seattle Storm and XFL games for Seattle Sea Dragons.
