Join the UW Department of Communication’s Journalism and Public Interest Communication (JPIC) program for our invite-only Autumn Mixer – an evening of conversation, community, and connection. This event will bring together students, faculty, researchers, and professional journalists from across Washington state for a sit-down dinner, a thought-provoking panel discussion, and networking opportunities. This event is sponsored by the Department of Communication and is free for invited attendees. We encourage all current JPIC students to attend this first-annual mixer to build their community, network with peers and professionals, and be a part of this fun new tradition.
Panel: The State of Journalism in Washington
Our featured speakers will explore what we know about journalism in Washington today, what we hope to learn moving forward, and how to use research and knowledge to strengthen democracy and local news.
