Free Dinner will be served at the event. How to get there:Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute, 104 17th Ave S Seattle, WA 98144We encourage all of our attendees to take public transit. Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute is accessible at the East Yesler Way and 17th Avenue South bus stop for bus route #27.For those driving, Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute offers a variety of options for parking free of charge. Street parking is available along with parking lots on the northeast corner of East Yesler Way and 17th Avenue South. There is additional parking behind the building in the southeast parking lot.About the Film:Be About It follows two men who were both infected at birth, and the impact chronic hepatitis B infection has had on them and their families. The documentary, directed by Christopher Wong and created with support from Gilead Sciences as part of their Hep B Smart program, aims to end the silence associated with hepatitis B by encouraging families to talk openly and dispel myths about living with the virus.Take part in a community forum with two local public health leaders, Vivian Huang, MD, MPH and Dr. Kwan-Gett for a discussion about health equity and how all of us have a role to play in combating hepatitis B in Seattle and nationwide.  https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events7/banners/1ce20550-572f-11f1-966e-412116278f5b-rimg-w416-h740-dc2a1f1e-gmir.jpg About the Speakers:  https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events6/banners/1d399b30-572f-11f1-b6cb-41802c899069-rimg-w494-h740-dc1d1d1f-gmir.jpg Vivian Huang, MD, MPH is the Medical Science Liaison for the US West representing Vir Biotechnology with a focus on hepatitis delta. She is a US trained physician; specialties include internal medicine and preventive medicine/public health. Dr. Vivian Huang has served as the Hepatitis B Director at the Charles B Wang Community Health Center in NYC from 2013-2015. She was also the former Adult Immunization & Emergency Preparedness Director at the New York City Health Department from 2015-2017. Becoming the Chief of Diabetes for Navajo Area Indian Health Service from 2017 – 2021 led her to the Southwest. And most recently, she was one of the public health leaders responding to the COVID-19 pandemic in NYC. She has a strong interest & expertise in infectious diseases, specifically hepatitis B, TB, Ebola, COVID-19 and vaccine preventable diseases. She is currently based in San Diego, CA. Previously, he practiced pediatrics at Virginia Mason for over 12 years with an emphasis on behavioral health and did volunteer work with refugee communities globally and locally. As a medical epidemiologist at Public Health Seattle & King County, Tao led a team responsible for communicable disease prevention and control. Tao has also served as a faculty member at the University of Washington School of Public Health, where he directed the Northwest Center for Public Health Practice (NWCPHP) for two years, engaged in teaching and research, and trained health professionals in cross-sector collaboration and health equity at NWCPHP’s Northwest Public Health-Primary Care Leadership Institute.AccessibilityLangston Hughes Performing Arts Institiute is ADA compliant with an, Accessible parking, Accessible entrance, Accessible restroom, and Elevator.
