Sean Fleming and his Red Hot Peppers Band to play New Orleans Jazz and Ragtime in Searsport on September 14
Sean Fleming and his Red Hot Peppers band will play New Orleans jazz and ragtime on Sunday, September 14, at 3:00 p.m. at the Searsport First Congregational Church on 8 Church Street. Included will be pieces originally played by "Jelly Roll" Morton, Louis Armstrong, Scott Joplin, the New Orleans Rhythm Kings, and more. Such early hits as "The Chant," "Black Bottom Stomp," "Tiger Rag," and more will be played. Come tap your feet as the band plays hits from the dawn of the jazz age.
The Red Hot Peppers band for this concert will include the same instrumental configuration that "Jelly Roll" Morton used in his trend-setting Red Hot Peppers in the 1920s; with Sean Fleming on piano, Phil Clement on banjo and guitar, Glen Sargent on clarinet, Gary Fuller on drums, Sebastian Jerosch on trombone, Peter Stuart on trumpet, and Anne-Marie D'Amico on tuba. This concert is sure to be a favorite for people of all ages!
