About the event

MDC Goes to Acadia!
The Maine Driving Club is planning a get-together event in Acadia National Park for September 18-21. The Maine Driving Club has reserved 20 total stalls at Wildwood Stables (10 stalls at C barn and 10 stalls at B barn) to ensure people can stable together who want to and to encourage club camaraderie!

To book, send us an email at bWFpbmVkcml2aW5nY2x1YiB8IGdtYWlsICEgY29t and paypal us to reserve your stalls.

Our price per stall for all 3 nights combined is only $80! Stalls at Wildwood are typically $40 per night, but we are offering our MDC members this special price thanks to a subsidization by an anonymous donor. This not only includes the stalls, but a copy of Robyn Cuffey's Equestrian's Guide to Acadia shipped to you in advance or to pickup at the event (while supplies last, so sign up early). There will be socializing and opportunities to drive on the glorious Rockefeller Carriage Roads! We hope to see you there and we hope to get your RSVP soon.

On Saturday afternoon/evening there will be a BBQ at a member's house, details TBD. If the weather is nice, we will be on the deck outside. If the weather is not good, we will be cozy inside. But the party will go on!

Please indicate if you would be interested in joining a group carriage tour aboard one of Wildwood Stables’ wagons on Friday, September 18 at 1:30 PM. We have reserved a wagon for up to 10 participants. Best of all: this tour normally costs $80 per person when booked directly through Wildwood Stables, but there is no additional cost to participants who join us (thanks again anonymous donor!)
This two-hour narrated tour travels over and under some of the most remarkable stone bridgework in America. You will visit three stone bridges built by John D. Rockefeller Jr. between 1917 and 1933 and pass through the historic Jordan Pond Gatehouse (1932). The tour typically includes opportunities to dismount and walk around each bridge, making this a rare chance to explore these features up close, something that isn’t always possible when driving your own horse.
The tour also serves as an excellent introduction to the carriage roads, helping you plan routes for your own driving later in the weekend.
Participation is first come, first served, so please sign up early.

Note: the club has booked all campsites for the dates shown to make available to members- so reach out to us if you want a campsite. These will be an additional charge.
We still have some sites, but they are going fast. Note that these sites have hookups and are great for RV camping. We recommend booking the campsite or other lodging well in advance, to get the best price. If you have difficulty finding a place to stay, please reach out.

If you would prefer to be in A-barn (this would be at the full Wildwood pricing), these can be booked at:
