# Event Details

- **Event Name**: Poetry Workshop
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 29 Nov, 2025 at 11:00 am – Sat, 29 Nov, 2025 at 01:00 pm
- **Event Description**: Find yourself connecting to a subject, and creating a short poem, or the beginning of an idea, to take away and work on later.About this EventOpen to everyone - whether you are an experienced writer, or you want to try poetry for the first time - and anywhere and everywhere in between - this workshop is for you. We'll work through some subject material, to develop an understanding of and connection to something that means something to us.Writing comes easier, and means more, if you've found an emotional connection, if you've found something that really matters. And this gives the writing a point. If you're new to poetry, we'll step through a series of simple exercises, and you will end up with the beginning of, or even a complete, piece that you can relate to.For the experienced hand, join in and see where the exercises take you; see what ideas you come up with to take away with you, with what might be the beginning of a new piece - or again, what you feel might be nearly there. Please arrive 15 minutes early, so you have time to grab a cup of tea or coffee before we begin at 11. There will be a break half way through to grab another drink and a biscuit.
