Historic ruins, a beach, and the industrial edgelands of Newhaven Port — three completely different environments, one summer evening.Why shoot at night? Different details emerge after dark, the atmosphere shifts completely, and there are fewer people getting in the way of your composition. You get a different perspective on familiar surroundings — and you won't end up with a reel of sunny snapshots. If you're leaning into your moody melancholy phase, this walk is for you.We meet at the ruins as the sun goes down, shoot the beach through the last of the light, then push into the industrial zone after dark where things get properly interesting. We finish back at the meeting point together.Your guide is Sean — who knows this stretch of coastline well and has a good eye for what makes a location worth shooting. This isn't a structured lesson — bring your night vision eye and shoot whatever catches it.All levels welcome: Bring your camera or phone -whatever you shoot with. We will be in a small grou with a maximum 10 people. Wear sensible shoes, bring a torch and a fully charged phone, and please be aware of the potential hazards of the environment you will be in. Please make sure you have thought about how you will get back to the station from the end point after the shoot has finished. There is a bus stop near the Car Park.Getting there:By car: Tide Mills car park is located off the A259 between Seaford and Newhaven. Turn off the main road at the Tide Mills sign and follow the track to the car park at the end. What3Words: ///dragonfly.insiders.brassBy train: Bishopstone station is the nearest stop, approximately a 14 minute walk (0.7 miles) to the meeting point. Exit the station and follow the coastal path westward towards Tide Mills, or you can take a bus from the Station.
