These modern pieces, infused with fresh perspectives and innovative sounds, reflect the diverse cultural landscape of today’s America. They not only honor the traditions of the past but also pave the way for future generations to create their own memories. This season, immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of music that bridges the gap between yesterday and today, celebrating both the timeless classics and the vibrant new compositions that continue to shape our musical heritage.Harpist Jocelyn Obermeyer will join us on many favorites! Song titles include Carol of the Drum, Deck the Halls, Its Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas, Carol of the Bells, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and traditional closer; the Hallelujah Chorus. Contemporary choral works feature: a new commissioned work from Mary Ellen Loose, Celestial Symphony, with harp and baritone soloist, as well as Eric Whitacre's Glow, and Morton Lauridsen's O Magnum Mysterium.
