Blessing of the Backpacks — and Golf Clubs!
SCOTTSDALE, AZ — North Scottsdale United Methodist Church (NSUMC) invites students, educators, and athletes of all ages to kick off the new school year — and pre-golf season — with a special Blessing of the Backpacks and Golf Clubs on Sunday, August 10th at 10:00 a.m.
As students prepare to step into a new grade and new experiences, NSUMC wants to send them off with encouragement, prayer, and a few special surprises. During the 10:00 a.m. worship service, pastors will bless students, teachers, and athletes, reminding them that their church family is cheering them on all year long. Each participant will receive a complimentary backpack tag as a daily reminder that they are loved and supported by their church family in addition to their parents.
After the blessing, children are invited to a fun Sunday School hour filled with crafts, activities, and a chance to talk about the year ahead. Families are then invited to stick around for FREE putt-putt golf in the Fellowship Center — the perfect way to get “back on course” for the 2025–2026 school year!
This community event is free and open to the public. All are welcome to come celebrate a fresh start, enjoy fellowship, and make new memories together.
