# Event Details - **Event Name**: Upcycling Textiles: cloth napkins - **Event Start and End Date**: Thu, 23 Oct, 2025 at 07:00 pm – Thu, 23 Oct, 2025 at 09:00 pm - **Event Description**: Learn and experiment with various techniques and upcycle textiles, and then complete your own artwork. There will be a different project presented each time, but you are always welcome to "go your own way" in the words of Stevie Nicks. You are welcome to bring something of your own. For Oct 23rd, we have a collection of unique vintage napkins that can be embroidered, scrap fabric to make bags out of, collage fabric, or even make accessories. Led by local artist and teacher Abby Schomaker, a multidisciplinary artist with almost 20 years of experience. What the Heck do you need to know: The workshop will take place outdoors under the pavilion or indoors in the front gallery. Limited to 10 spots. Signing up is required by clicking "Buy Ticket." Put Zero if you would rather pay in person at the workshop. https://www.heck.house/event-details/upcycling-textiles The suggested donation is $20 to $30, but pay what you can. 70% goes to Abby, the instructor, and 30% to Heck.house. Please make a note that it is for textiles. Parking is on one side of Milton Street, the cross street that the driveway is located on. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Instructor: Abby Schomaker is an ATL native, neurospicy, queer, multidisciplinary artist and teacher, who is passionate about art as a means of expression, advocacy, and healing. Abby is thrilled to be a board member and teacher at Heck.house as Head oƒ Diversity and Inclusion for the arts and community engagement. They have roots in both visual arts and performance, and their artistry blends them in performance and exhibition work. She has performed and exhibited work that includes: dance, puppetry, improv, comedy, painting, sculpting, singing, drawing, and more. They are currently teaching workshops with Heck, and working on innovative, artistic personal work.
