Do you have old gas, chemicals, or paint cans cluttering your space? Saco and neighboring communities make hazardous waste disposal simple. Residents can take advantage of three Household Hazardous Waste Collection events each year.
These events are the perfect opportunity to dispose of any chemicals and materials you may have been holding on to in your home or garage. Acceptable materials include:
• Oil-based paints and paint thinner
• Pesticides and herbicides
• Gasoline and degreasers
• Wood stain
• Pool chemicals
• Drain cleaner, cleaning agents, and solvents
Saco, Biddeford, Scarborough, and Old Orchard Beach residents are welcome to attend any of the following collection events:
SCARBOROUGH
The first collection of 2026 is in Scarborough (20 Washington Ave) on Saturday, May 9, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
SACO
Saco Public Works (15 Phillips Spring Road) will host collection on Saturday, July 11, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
BIDDEFORD
Collection in Biddeford (371 Hill St) will occur Saturday, Sept. 12, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Mark your calendar and clear your garage! Bring proof of Saco residency, such as a driver’s license, to participate.
