Race Format: Cars will be raced in groups by rank. AOL will race first starting at 10:30. Webelos, Bears, Wolves, Tigers, lions and then finals will follow in order and tentative start times will be announced once registration is complete.
Each entrant will run twice in each of the four lanes of the track. These qualifying heats will be randomly generated. Vehicles may or may not run in consecutive heats. Efforts to race as many of the other vehicles are made so each entrant has a potential of racing vs 24 cars. Scoring of the races will be based solely on time. Cars that do not cross the finish line are given a default time of 8 seconds. Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 winners of each rank. All trophies awarded at the end of the Grand Champion races.
The GRAND CHAMPION will be determined after all the ranks have finished racing. The three fastest
winners of each rank advances to the Grand Champion race. The 18 vehicles will race each other with a
clean slate, no times are kept from the early rounds, twice in each of the lanes. The best finisher will
be the GRAND CHAMPION. In the event of a tie, those cars tied will continue in a runoff until a clear winner is decided.
Scouts MUST check-in on race day before their ranks cutoff time. Cars not checked in may be pulled from the schedule. The District Derby has gotten larger over the years and cars without drivers
present will be dropped to allow the races to be completed in a timely manner.
