Since then, Matty has led Origin Coffee's team and now runs the hands-on coffee program at Flora and Fauna, sourcing beans directly from farmers he knows and building drinks around local produce. His mission: to bring Savannah the best coffee experiences, at home and in cafés alike.Coffee's story stretches back centuries, with legend tracing its discovery to a goat herder in the Ethiopian highlands who noticed his flock's energy after eating a certain berry. From there it traveled through Arabian trade routes, into European coffeehouses, and eventually into the specialty movement transforming how we drink it today. This class walks you through that arc in miniature: you'll taste four different coffee varieties, compare brewing methods side by side — including Aeropress and French press — and see firsthand how far a humble bean has come. For our final course, we'll "eat" our coffee: a homemade ice cream from Late Air paired into an affogato.
